Author

Jack Wineman is an author whose stories offer comfort, adventure, and lessons for young readers. His journey into writing began after a long and successful career as a clinical psychologist. Jack earned his PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah in 1973 and went on to dedicate more than 25 years to serving children, youth, and adults as the founder of Woodhaven Counseling Associates in Omaha, Nebraska.
Throughout his career, Jack worked closely with educators, families, and treatment programs to improve the well-being of young people. His deep understanding of childhood emotions and challenges is beautifully reflected in his storytelling. His debut children’s book, Woodrow Whips His Fear of the Dark, is a heartfelt tale that combines the lessons of friendship, courage, and facing one’s fears.
Jack’s passion for helping others has always been at the forefront of his life. Today, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sharon, their daughter, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter in sunny Florida. When he’s not writing, you can find Jack fishing, boating, and soaking up time with family.

A Word from Jack

I’ve always believed that stories have the power to both entertain and teach. My hope is that Woodrow Whips His Fear of the Dark offers young readers a little bit of both—a fun story, but also some helpful tools to face the fears they might have. Thank you for reading!
